Rochdale,

What's Good?

The Birthplace of Cooperation

Rochdale, UK

Rochdale is a market town located on the borders of North East Greater Manchester & Calderdale (West Yorkshire). It's home to over 200,000 people of all walks of life and culture with a rich history & optimistic community

Rochdale, What's Good?

Produced by Ethan Holden

Rochdale is my hometown, but in recent years it has been battered in the media with negative press. For my documentary unit on my TV & Film course at UTC@MediaCityUK, I had the idea to show Rochdale in a more positive light expressing the views of the borough. Since starting college in September, I have realised that many people who aren't from Rochdale only know it for its crime & violence so I felt like making something to change this.

The Experience

Producing "Rochdale, What's Good?" was one of the exciting and lively project I've worked on. Along the project I had the chance to meet very an array of very interesting people, learn more about my heritage, build my skills in the factual TV industry as well and reconnect with my town.
